“So are you excited for 40days?” A student asked.
“Eh.” As I looked out the window and saw the grey, cold snow blowing by our storefront.

I didn’t like my response. But it was true.
This winter has been strong. Each day harsher than the next it seems.
Talk about staying in the pose. Brutal.
Some relief will be on the way. And surely Spring will show its face again.
Tomorrow we start 40 days. We have a great group of students and teachers. Some of those students may even turn into teachers.
So I’m getting excited. When the program ends the days will be longer and air warmer. We may even see some dead grass and hear a bird or two.
Until then, I’m looking forward to embarking on the journey of the program. It’s intense. It’s uncomfortable and it works.
This year I’ll be entering the program as a vegetarian? I haven’t eaten meat this year. I’m not sure what I’ll do as I move forward but I’ve been feeling good and eating more mindfully.
40 days really makes the studio feel like a home.
Hard to explain.
It just does.
